Meet Carl

Carl Vermassen joined Vontobel in January 2019. He is Portfolio Manager in the Emerging Markets Bonds team within Fixed Income.

Before joining Vontobel, he worked at Degroof Petercam Asset Management in Brussels, where he was portfolio manager of the Emerging Market Sustainable Bonds Fund, whose performance consistently ranked in the top decile among its peers. Previously, he managed award-winning European and global sovereign bond funds at Petercam and Bank Nagelmackers 1747. He also served as an Executive Committee Member of the Belgian Asset Management Association (BEAMA). He started his career in 1993 at Petercam as a market maker in Belgian sovereign bonds.

Carl holds a Master’s degree in Applied Economic Sciences from the University of Antwerp.
