Gregor Kapferer joined Vontobel's Fixed Income Boutique as a Senior Portfolio Manager for CHF Bonds in November 2023. In March 2025, he took over the leadership of the Swiss franc segment and was appointed Head of Global & Swiss Bonds in October 2025. In this role, he is responsible for managing and strategically aligning the global and Swiss bond portfolios. In addition to his leadership responsibilities, he mainly focuses on the management and further development of investment funds and institutional mandates with an emphasis on Swiss franc bonds.
Prior to joining Vontobel, he was a fixed income portfolio manager at Swiss Life Asset Managers from 2017. In this role, he managed CHF-denominated, global, and absolute-return bond strategies, and was responsible for the high-grade bond portfolio within the firm’s insurance business. From 2014, he was a fixed-income portfolio manager at the Swiss pension fund CPV/CAP Coop, overseeing CHF-denominated and global bond portfolios. His earlier career included various roles at Bayern LB in New York, where he began in 2005, ultimately serving as Head of Trading, responsible for all fixed-income and foreign-exchange transactions.
Gregor holds a degree in Business Administration from Friedrich-Alexander-Universität in Erlangen-Nuremberg in Germany. He is also a CFA® charterholder and received a CFA® certificate in ESG investing.
