Sergey Goncharov has been appointed Head of Fixed Income Boutique Americas, a newly created role to better serve the needs and goals of investors in the region.

As a seasoned investor with 14 years of investment experience and seven years as a portfolio manager with Vontobel’s Fixed Income Boutique, Sergey brings deep knowledge of the emerging markets universe and sustainable fixed income investing. Sergey’s relocation from Switzerland to the US strengthens the investment team’s local presence and provides additional support following the boutique’s recent launch of three emerging markets fixed income strategies for US and Canadian investors.

Vontobel’s Emerging Markets Bonds team employs a differentiated, high-conviction and bottom-up focused investment approach. It strives to generate consistent and strong risk-adjusted returns for investors by capturing value and event-driven opportunities.

“I am excited to be here in the United States and to further engage with North American investors to help them achieve their long-term investment goals,” commented Sergey. “I look forward to continuing to work with our international team to build and manage solutions that provide yield and diversification and that address the unique needs of investors in this region.”

Vontobel has been offering fixed income solutions since 1988. Its Fixed Income Boutique manages USD 21 billion in client assets by offering pertinent solutions in Global Credit, Global Bonds and Emerging Markets. The Fixed Income team consists of 38 investment professionals located in Zurich, New York and Hong Kong.

Over the last 15 months, Vontobel has launched a series of strategies as part of its multi-boutique rollout in North America, strengthening its established presence in the region with additional solutions across asset classes for US and Canadian investors.
