Meet Luc

Luc D'hooge joined Vontobel in April 2013 within Fixed Income to launch the Emerging Markets Debt strategy and establish his team as Head of Emerging Markets Bonds. In 2024, he decided to concentrate on portfolio management as a Senior Portfolio Manager.

Prior to joining Vontobel, he was a portfolio manager at Dexia Asset Management from 2000, most recently as Head of Emerging Markets Bond Funds and before that as Head of Global Bond Funds. From 1993, he was a portfolio manager and Head of Fixed Income Fund Management at Bank Brussels Lambert. From 1989, he worked as an engineer in petroleum exploration in Europe, the Middle East, and Angola.

Luc holds a master’s degree in Geology and Mineralogy from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven in Belgium and a master’s degree in mining engineering from the Ecole Polytechnique de Bruxelles – ULB. He is also a CFA® charterholder.
