Meet Robert

Robert Berner joined Vontobel in October 2011. He is a Senior Investigative Analyst within Quality Growth, focusing on ESG and engagement. He uses his journalistic skills to conduct research on investment themes and on the companies, in which the Quality Growth portfolios already invest or may potentially invest.

Prior to joining Vontobel, he conducted investigative due diligence as a freelance reporter from 2009 to 2011. From 2000 to 2009, he was a Senior Writer on the investigative team for BusinessWeek. From 1995 to 1999, he was a staff reporter for the Wall Street Journal. He began his financial career in 1985 as a Business Writer for The Bennington Banner in Vermont. He received numerous awards for his journalistic work, including the 2009 Folio Magazine Gold Award for editorial excellence for his article The Subprime Wolves are Back.

Robert received a Bachelor of Arts in Art History with a concentration in Economics from Oberlin College in Ohio.
