Meet José Luis

José Luis Ezcurra joined Vontobel Asset Management in February 2008 as a Senior Relationship Manager and currently acts as Sales Head for the Americas. Effective January 2023, he has taken on overall responsibility for the firm’s asset management distribution capabilities for the Americas, which includes US-based global banks, institutional, and intermediary businesses, as well as institutions in Canada and Latin America. In his previous role as Head of LatAm and US Offshore, he led Vontobel’s distribution efforts in the region by locally managing third-party partnerships. Additionally, he spearheaded Vontobel’s commitment to global banks, establishing strong relationships with global banks’ headquarters and regional teams. Prior to this, he was Head of Iberia and LatAm until 2018.

Before joining Vontobel, since January 2004, he was a co-founding partner of Harcourt, where he was responsible for all business development activities for Iberia and Latin America. Prior to this, he worked for CM Capital Markets, a member of the ABN AMRO Group, responsible for business development in Spain, Andorra, and Portugal. Previously, he worked for KBC Securities and UBS Warburg as European and Japanese Equity Sales respectively. He started his career at Nomura Securities in the role of Japanese Equity Sales.

José Luis holds a degree in Economics (Honors) from the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid.
