Meet Heinrich

Heinrich Schlegel joined Vontobel Asset Management, Inc., in July 1988 as President and CEO and became Chairman of its board of directors in July 2014. He served for several years as a director of Vontobel Funds Inc., as U.S.  S.E.C. registered investment company and as a director of Bank Vontobel (Cayman) Ltd.

Heinrich Schlegel started his career in finance in 1973 with Swiss Bank Corporation (now UBS AG) in global investment and wealth management as well as commercial banking in Zurich, New York, Montreal and the offshore financial center of the Bahamas. His career at Swiss Bank Corporation included a three year secondment to Libra Bank Ltd., London, a specialist in syndicated lending to Latin American public and private sector entities. In 1986, Heinrich Schlegel joined Bank Vontobel AG, a sister company of Vontobel Asset Management, Inc., as a portfolio manager in the private banking division.

He earned a BA from the Swiss Mercantile College in Zurich.
