Luc D'hooge kam im April 2013 zu Vontobel, wo er die Emerging Markets Debt‑Strategie lancierte und das Emerging Markets Investmentteam innerhalb der Vontobel Fixed Income Boutique aufbaute. Im April 2026 zog er sich aus seinen Portfolio‑Management‑Aufgaben zurück und wurde Advisor. In seiner neuen Rolle unterstützt er das Emerging Markets Team weiterhin im Tagesgeschäft.

Prior to joining Vontobel, he was portfolio manager at Dexia Asset Management from 2000 to 2013, most recently as Head of Emerging Markets Bond Funds and before that as Head of Global Bond Funds. From 1993 to 2000, he was a portfolio manager and Head of Global Fixed Income at Bank Brussels Lambert. From 1989 to 1993, he worked as an engineer in petroleum exploration in Europe, the Middle East, and Angola.

Luc holds a master’s degree in Geology and Mineralogy from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven in Belgium and a master's degree in Mining Engineering from the Ecole Polytechnique de Bruxelles – ULB. He is also a CFA® charterholder.
