Zhen Li joined Vontobel Asset Management in August 2012 as a Research Assistant for the firm’s Quality Growth Boutique and became a Research Analyst in 2014. She is a generalist with a focus on ESG and engagement, working as an Investigative Business Analyst using journalistic skills to conduct research on current and potential portfolio companies and investment themes.

Prior to joining Vontobel Asset Management, from 2010 to 2012, she was a stringer for Energy Intelligence, reporting on China’s nuclear power industry. She began her financial career in 2005, covering China-related issues with The New York Times as a Researcher and News Assistant in their Shanghai Bureau until 2008.

Zhen Li received a Master’s degree in International Relations from the Institute Barcelona D’Estudis Internacionals in Spain as well as a Master’s degree in Public Administration & Public Policy from The University of York in the United Kingdom. In addition, she received a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Nanjing University in China.
