Stephan Eugster joined Vontobel in September 2014. As an Analyst in the Impact & Thematic team within Vontobel Conviction Equities, he covers stocks for our Global Environmental Change and Transition Resources strategies. In addition, he is Co-Portfolio Manager of Transition Resources portfolios and Deputy Portfolio Manager for the Global Environmental Change portfolios.
Prior to joining Vontobel, he co-founded two trading and consulting firms in 2009 and 2010, focusing on Japan and South America. From 1997 to 2009, he held various senior positions at Swiss Re Asset Management in Zurich, Hong Kong, and Tokyo, most recently as an equity analyst for the energy and materials sectors. Before that, he managed Hong Kong, Chinese, Korean, and Taiwanese equity portfolios. He also worked at Swiss Re in the tactical asset allocation team, mainly covering the Asia-Pacific region. From 1987 to 1997, he held various positions at financial institutions in Geneva and St. Gallen.
Stephan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of St. Gallen. He is also Certified European Financial Analyst (CEFA).
