Meet Sandra

Sandra G. Richardson joined Vontobel Asset Management in June 2022. She serves as General Counsel Americas, leading the Legal and Compliance Team for all US business lines, which includes Vontobel Swiss Financial Advisers AG, Vontobel Securities Ltd., and Vontobel Asset Management, Inc.

Prior to joining Vontobel Asset Management, from 2008 to 2022, she served as an Associate General Counsel at Russell Investments, where her principal responsibilities included advising Russell Investments companies on investment advisory matters, trading in securities, derivatives, and commodities worldwide, litigation management, and compliance with The Dodd–Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, and related CFTC and SEC rulemakings. Prior to joining Russell Investments, she worked as an associate at the law firm of K&L Gates LLP, where she advised SEC registered investment companies, investment advisers, investment company independent trustees, and broker-dealers on a variety of regulatory and compliance matters. She began her legal career in 1998 as a corporate and securities law associate at the law firm of Cooley LLP.

Sandra holds a Juris Doctorate from Columbia University Law School, a Master’s degree in Public Policy from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California at Berkeley. She is licensed to practice law in New York, California, Washington, and the District of Columbia. She is a member of the American Bar Association, the American Bar Foundation, Association of Corporate Counsel, Corporate Counsel Women of Color, and City Bar of New York.
