Meet Nicolas

Nicolas Burckhardt joined Vontobel in 2016. Since 2024, he is Head of Systematic Portfolio Management within Quantitative Investments. Previously, he managed quantitative equity and multi-asset portfolios as a Senior Portfolio Manager.

Before joining Vontobel, he was responsible for quantitative multi-asset solutions within product management at Vescore (integrated into Vontobel in 2016). From 2013 to 2015, he was a senior quantitative analyst at Vescore Solutions, responsible for developing the process and model landscape. He began his professional career in 2006 as a research and professorship assistant at the Swiss Institute of Banking and Finance at the University of St. Gallen.

Nicolas holds a Master’s degree in Economics with a focus on financial and capital markets and a PhD in Finance from the University of St. Gallen. His thesis was on correlation models and their application in currency markets.
