Meet Gayle

Gayle Chan joined Vontobel Asset Management in January 2022. As an ESG Analyst within the Conviction Equities Boutique, she conducts ESG research covering Chinese onshore and offshore companies, focusing on the consumer, information technology, and financial sectors. She has a specialist focus on sustainability topics for supply chain management, data, artificial intelligence, and China’s ESG regulations, including their relationship to international trade. She is based in Hong Kong.

Prior to joining Vontobel, she spent over ten years at Invesco in Hong Kong as a Portfolio Management Associate. She was initially responsible for providing general macro and equity research and trade execution support for the Asia-Pacific ex-Japan investment team. Her role expanded, and she became a core member of the Asia ex-Japan ESG working group. She assisted with the rollout of the team’s ESG integration project and conducted in-depth ESG analysis on Chinese and Korean companies.

Gayle holds a Master’s of Science Degree in Finance from London University (external program) and a Bachelor Degree in Commerce from Monash University in Melbourne, Australia.
