Meet Robert

Robert Horat is the Managing Director of the Pfandbriefbank schweizerischer Hypothekarinstitute AG. After completing his studies in business administration with a focus on banking and finance at the University of Zurich, he worked as a research associate at the Institute of Swiss Banking, which is now known as the Swiss Banking Institute and is also affiliated with the University of Zurich. In 2006, he earned his doctorate with a dissertation on “Secured Refinancing of the Mortgage Business: The Swiss “Pfandbrief” and Its Development Potential.”

Following several years in various roles at Sparkasse Schwyz AG — including three years as a member of the Executive Board — he assumed leadership of the Pfandbriefbank at the beginning of 2014. He is also a member of the Capital Markets Steering Committee of the Swiss Bankers Association.
