Meet Birgit

Birgit Sonderegger Schärer joined Vontobel in 1996. Today she is Senior Relationship Manager for Institutional Clients and supports Swiss pension funds, foundations and companies on the mandate side.

Birgit completed an internship at the Vontobel Asset Management, Inc. subsidiary in New York, from April to May 1999, and between May 1999 and 2003, she was responsible for marketing activities for Swiss institutional clients (relationship management, acquisition of new clients and events). While studying at the University of Zurich, Birgit worked as a trainee at IBM (Switzerland) AG and Swiss Bank Corporation (UBS AG). After graduating in early 1993 with a degree in Business Management, Business Administration and Controlling, Birgit began her career in the Corporate Clients and Capital Market Switzerland department at Swiss Bank Corporation (Warburg Dillon Read, a division of UBS AG) in Zurich. Her work involved equity capital and external financing transactions for listed Swiss companies and public authorities.

Birgit holds a lic. oec. publ. (Master of Arts) from the University of Zurich.
